Nick Meltzer is the lead staff person for the Corvallis Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO). Established in 2003, CAMPO is comprised of the cities of Corvallis, Adair Village, Philomath, Benton County, Oregon State University (OSU) and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). The goal of CAMPO is regionally plan for the transportation needs of the Corvallis urban region.
Nick has 10 years of experience in transportation engineering and planning. Not one to shy away from a complex project, he has led downtown parking studies and road diet pilots, designed bicycle lanes, developed statewide policy guidance on bicycle facilities, overseen sidewalk construction, and served as Assistant Bicycle & Pedestrian Coordinator for the State of Vermont. The trip is part of a University of Oregon Sustainable Transportation Study Abroad program in which students and working professionals are immersed in a new environment to learn how other countries address transportation.
